The Hamster is coming to the Canadian International Auto Show next month. The British auto TV presenter will be on hand for a special gala celebrating Dario Franchitti as well as the grand opening for the Toronto show.

Richard Hammond, best known as one of the co-hosts of BBC’s Top Gear and Amazon’s The Grand Tour, will be present for a black-tie gala in the Auto Exotica showcase at the show. The gala celebrates Canadian auto collectors. It will also celebrate Indy racing legend Dario Franchitti. Franchitti is the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame’s international inductee for 2023.

Hammond will also speak at the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association summit and will be part of the opening presentation of the show’s media day on February 15th.

“It is exciting to be able to add a personality like Richard Hammond to the roster of some of the special events for the AutoShow,” says Jason Campbell, General Manager of the AutoShow. “He brings to the event a high-profile global personality, with a deep and extensive knowledge of cars and the automotive industry. Richard’s humorous anecdotes and insightful commentary promise to make our Collectors’ Celebration and AutoShow Media Day an unforgettable experience for all attendees.”
