RUF CTR3 Evo Unveiled at Monterey Car Week: A New Chapter in Performance

RUF's Pinnacle of Engineering

  • Monterey Car Week reveals RUF’s groundbreaking CTR3 Evo with 800 horsepower engine.

  • Kevlar-composite exterior and auto-deploying wing enhance aesthetics and aerodynamic performance.

  • Advanced suspension and braking systems ensure unmatched control and safety during drives.

During the renowned Monterey Car Week, RUF introduced the world to its latest marvel, the CTR3 Evo. Demonstrating unparalleled advancements in its line-up, this particular model stands out as the most powerful RUF ever crafted.

At the heart of the CTR3 Evo lies a robust 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine. This powerhouse churns out an impressive 800 horsepower at 7,100 RPM and a staggering 730 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 RPM. Such formidable power figures are accompanied by state-of-the-art engineering features including direct fuel injection, variable valve timing and lift, and a dry-sump lubrication system. What is the purpose of this meticulous engineering? Ensuring optimal performance while maintaining engine integrity.

The exterior of the vehicle is just as remarkable as its engine. Crafted with a Kevlar-composite body shell, the CTR3 Evo isn’t just about aesthetics—it promises resilience. Complementing its aerodynamics is an automatically-deploying rear wing, ensuring both stability and increased downforce at higher speeds.

In terms of handling, the CTR3 Evo offers a McPherson strut front suspension combined with a multi-link rear suspension. The latter features horizontally-opposed coil-over shock absorbers, ensuring the vehicle remains firmly grounded, even under the most challenging driving conditions. To effectively reign in this machine’s power, RUF has incorporated a carbon-ceramic braking system. This comprises 15-inch rotors and six-piston calipers, ensuring rapid deceleration when required.

In summary, RUF’s unveiling of the CTR3 Evo at Monterey Car Week showcased more than just a car—it introduced a beacon of automotive innovation and engineering prowess. As the specs reveal, this model isn’t merely about raw power; it’s a testament to holistic vehicle design, where every component works in harmony to deliver a truly exceptional driving experience.
