The luxury brand had already confirmed a longer version of its flagship electric SUV, the Escalade IQ. But as of now, we know a bit more since the extended version of the long-awaited Cadillac Escalade IQ has been spotted on Michigan roads. The luxury division certainly intends to capitalize on the notoriety of the model, the most imposing of Cadillac’s SUVs, which has almost always been offered with a longer wheelbase.
In fact, the current combustion-powered Cadillac Escalade can still be ordered in this longer form, which goes by the name ESV.
In this case, we’re talking about the Cadillac Escalade IQL, and like its “shorter” equivalent, the longer model adopts a relatively exclusive design towards the rear. Indeed, the C-pillar is decidedly wider – in the manner of the one integrated into the Chevrolet Traverse’s silhouette – which is even accompanied by that chrome strip that overhangs both doors before dropping down to the bottom of the rear window.
At the time of writing, it is not known whether the rear position lights will be accompanied by a second illuminated unit over the beltline, as is the case with the Escalade IQ.
The new, roomier model should arrive sometime in 2025. The Escalade IQL will complete the Escalade range, which already includes several liveries, both combustion and electric.
According to Automotive News, the Escalade IQL is almost as long as the V8-powered Escalade ESV.
