It’s a Chinese site, Autohome, which has managed to get their hands on the photos and some specifications of the all-new 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport.
Last March, Volkswagen, during the New York International Auto Show, unveiled the Atlas Cross Sport Concept and announced at the same time the production of a 5-seater Atlas at its Chattanooga plant in Tennessee starting in 2019.
So here is what the production model will look like. Taking some lines of the concept, we can still notice that it’s not as bold. In fact, from the front, very few details differentiate it from the current Atlas.
According to Autohome, the specifications are also very similar. The Chinese website actually mentions that the 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport will have an identical wheelbase and overall width. The length, as well as the height, shrink by 131 mm and 54 mm respectively.
Although the concept has a hybrid powertrain, we can surely expect to see the Atlas Cross Sport with the same combination of engines as the current Volkswagen Atlas, the 235 hp 2.0L TSI and 276 hp 3.6L VR6.
For now, that’s all we know, but expect to see it appear at a car show very soon. To be continued…
