Although the Mercedes-Benz EQV concept version was shown at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show last March, for some reason, we never thought twice about it. “An electric minivan? That’s nice. When’s the C8 Corvette coming out already?” You know what we mean? But now that it’s official, we’re all ears.
Nothing is confirmed for North America, but the 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQV has much to offer families looking for all the space and utility associated with a minivan along with pure and efficient electric motoring. Let us be reminded that the current Mercedes-Benz Metris, a great minivan, is not exactly a runaway success.
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQV will be powered by a 100 kWh battery (90 kWh for driving) coupled to a 150 kW electric motor. All said, the powertrain will provide up to 405 km (252 miles) of range. It will also feature a 3-phase on-board charger (11 kW) and DC fast charging capability at up to 110 kW (10-80% recharge in less than 45 minutes).
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQV will make its official debut at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Pricing is not yet known however it won’t be cheap.
