Mister Ken Block, the original Hoonigan, has built another car for his immensely popular Gymkhana series of driving videos.
I said car, but in reality, it’s a truck. And not just any truck, it’s a 1977 Ford F-150. Ken explains that he opted for this particular model as he grew up with a’77 F-150 and probably did his first burnout in one.
The Hoonitruck will be all about tire smoke, knowing Block. The Ford is powered a 914-horsepower Ford Performance Ecoboost 3.5-litre V6, derived from the Ford GT engine that took the honours at Le Mans. To the engine is mounted to a sequential shift transmission which sends power to a rally-bred AWD system, as expected.
Of the many elements to this truck are the Fifteen52 Turbomac 20×10.5 true beadlock wheels shod with Toyo Proxes ST II 315/35R20 tires.
Gymkhana TEN will launch as an 8-part series on Amazon Prime on November 16th with video being released on YouTube on December 17th. The Hoonitruck will also be at next week’s SEMA show.
