A partnership with Marvel Studios will also see custom content and a red-carpet appearance for the ID.4.
The car will be the superhero’s family car.
The film will premiere later this month.
Volkswagen announced a collaboration with Marvel Studios that will see its ID.4 electric car be featured in the upcoming movie “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania”.
The electric SUV will be used as the superhero’s family car in the movie and it will make an appearance on the red carpet during the movie’s premiere in Los Angeles later this month.
In addition to the product placement its EV will enjoy in the movie, Volkswagen will deploy a related ad campaign on social media, TV, and in movie theatres.
This ad was created by the Walt Disney Studios partnership team and it will feature custom content linking it to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Ant-Man, as well as special effects created by Framestore’s award-winning team.
The spot will reportedly show the ID.4 shrinking and growing, and it should follow a specific storyline.
An additional featurette will give a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the movie and the placement of the ID.4 during production.
According to Volkswagen, the Ant-Man franchise was chosen because it is one of the most likable superheroes in the Marvel catalogue and also because his character is the best match for the brand, citing his authenticity and his sense of humour.
VW’s head of Global Branded Entertainment says that emotional storytelling such as what can be achieved via partnerships with movie studios is very important for any brand.
As Marvel films are very popular all over the world, the automaker expects to reach millions of people globally and increase the public’s awareness of its current and future electric vehicles.
