ADAC, an automobile association in Germany, crash tested the Bugatti Chiron and Porsche 911 GT3 RS LEGO sets and filmed the results.
Crash tests are always satisfying to watch but also makes you cringe depending on the car. YouTube channels like the ones from Euro NCAP or IIHS publishes these crash tests results. The results seen in those videos can be impressive, scary and sometimes both.
ADAC, an automobile association in Germany, wanted to have a little bit of fun and back in 2017 crash tested the most recent (back then) LEGO Technic model available, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The video was quite a hit (pun intended) and quickly went viral.
In case you didn’t know, the 1:8 scale model of the 911 GT3 RS they crashed tested is made of 2,704 pieces and measures over 6” high, 22” long and 9” wide.
Now, almost two years after their Porsche video, ADAC made another crash test video. This time, the video pits the Porsche 911 GT3 RS against one of the most recent LEGO Technic model, the Bugatti Chiron.
The Bugatti’s specifications are over 5” high, 22” long and 12.5” wide. The full set includes 3,599 pieces.
The Porsche is launched at 60 km/h into the perpendicularly stopped Bugatti, to imitate perfectly a “real” crash test.
We will let you watch the aftermath and the 3D animation made following the crash in the video above.
