I think all of us would have rightfully guessed that despite the Demon’s demise, Dodge and SRT were not simply going to walk away from their record-setting supercar-crushing Super Challenger.
The Redeye’s specs are simple enough to understand. The supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 engine will put out 797-horsepower (why not 799 or 801?) and an incredibly healthy 707 lb.-ft. of torque. Like the Demon, the only transmission offered will be an 8-speed automatic.
2019 will also mark the SRT Hellcat’s first bump in power because frankly, 707-horsepower was barely enough. The same supercharged 6.2-litre V8 will generate 717 horsepower and 656 lb.-ft. of torque (why not 666?)
Also, like the Demon, the Redeye, Hellcat and Scat Pack 392 will be entitled to an optional Widebody kit which add 8.8 cm (3.5 inches) to the overall width and covers massive P305/35ZR20 Pirelli tires on 20 x 11-inch forged “Devil’s Rim” aluminum wheels.
Production begins this fall.
Um, am I the only one that finds that “Redeye” is a weird name?
