Thankfully for all car enthusiasts, the Mustang will live a long and wonderful life. Back in 2015, for the 2016 model year, Ford unleashed the Shelby Mustang GT350 to fanfare and the growl of its high-revving flat-plane crankshaft 5.2-liter V8 engine. Its 526 horsepower, 429 lb.-ft. and Tremec 6-speed manual transmission are all performance purists could ever ask for.
While power remains unchanged, which is fine with us, the 2019 Shelby GT350 does gain improved aerodynamics, custom Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and extra chassis tuning. The result is faster track times, which is what this car’s all about.
And that’s not a typo. Ford and Michelin engineered new Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires with specific tread patterns and different compounds for better grip and improved braking. These rubbers won’t be cheap as they’re 295/35 front and 305/35 rear size wise… The MagneRide active suspension and steering have also been recalibrated for maximum attack. New interior kit and exterior colours are also added for 2019.
The Mustang Shelby GT350 will be available starting in early 2019.
