A V8 variant of the Bentley Continental GT Coupe and Convertible arrives on the market announces the British manufacturer.
The third generation of the Continental GT is now available with a V8. Unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2017, the latest generation was, until now, powered by only one engine, an all-new 6.0-litre W12.
This new version of the Bentley Continental GT now features a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 542 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. It allows the car to do the 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds for the Coupe while the Convertible adds one-tenth.
In comparison, the Continental GT W12 produces 626 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
Like the GT W12, the power on the V8 version of the Continental is transmitted to all four wheels, using the Active All-Wheel Drive System, through an eight-speed automatic transmission. That said, Bentley mentions that this Grand Touring has a range of over 800 km.
The new Continental GT duo comes standard with 20-inch 10-spoke wheels and offers the option of choosing from nine other models up to 22 inches.
The 2020 GT V8 Convertible can deploy or stow its roof in just 19 seconds. This can also be achieved with the car driving up to a speed of 50 km/h.
Deliveries of the Bentley Continental GT V8 Coupe and Convertible begin in the first quarter of 2020.
