2021 New York Auto Show Cancelled for Good

  • The Covid-19 Delta variant was cited as a serious concern.

  • It prompted State and local officials to increase various measures to stop its spread.

Preparations were well underway for the highly anticipated return of the New York International Auto Show, one of the world’s premiere car events. For the last few weeks, automakers have been teasing new product debuts but sadly, the 2021 NYIAS will not take place.

Up until today, press day was to be held on August 19th with the venue opening to the public from August 20th to the 29th.

The New York Auto Show remains one of the most exciting car events on a global scale. The NYIAS also happens to one of the oldest of its kind as it opened its doors way back in 1900.

As of today, the NYIAS organizers have decided to return the event to its usual spring schedule meaning it will (hopefully) take place in April of 2022.
