2025 Lexus UX Gets Fifth-Gen Hybrid Power

Littlest Lexus becomes more

  • 250h becomes 300h with 196 hp

  • Lexus updates safety system, new screens and dash

Lexus is giving its smallest model a boost for 2025. The 2025 Lexus UX 300h replaces the 250h with more power thanks to a new hybrid system as well as getting a new gear selector design and an available new big screen.

The Lexus UX 300h picks up the fifth generation of the company’s hybrid system for 2025. The hybrid has a 2.0L four-cylinder engine and a pair of electric motors that make 196 hp. It’s the first Lexus to get LHS gen-five and makes 15 more horses than last year.

Lexus said that the system will also move to a lithium-ion battery in place of the old nickel-metal hydride pack, though it’s not clear what difference that will make to the experience.

All versions of the 2025 UX 300h in Canada get all-wheel drive, powered by a motor in the rear. In the U.S., front-wheel drive will be offered.

Along with the new powertrain, Lexus has given the UX its latest safety system. Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 comes with curve-detecting cruise control and the ability to spot motorcycles and oncoming traffic, as well as the usual feature list, including a pre-collision system, lane assistance, and more.

All models have a new gear selector that Lexus says should make moving from forward to reverse (or the opposite) more seamless. UX 300h Luxury grades get a new 12.3-inch screen instead of an 8.0-inch display and a new fully digital dash and digital key. F-Sport 2 trims get those same tech updates.

The 2025 Lexus UX 300h is at dealers in Canada now. Pricing starts from $43,605 for Premium and $49,069 for Luxury. F Sport Design is $44,675, and F Sport 2 is $51,344.
