Ford F-150 Raptor Rendering Shows Possible Design For Confirmed Performance Truck

The good news is that there will be 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, but we don't know anything beyond that

  • Ford confirmed there would be a 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor

  • Previous reports suggested the Raptor may not return

  • No information on the next Raptor available right now

The 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor will happen contrary to an initial report that came out when the new-generation F-150 was unveiled yesterday.

Muscle Cars & Trucks first reported that the Raptor wouldn’t return, but subsequently updated their story after speaking with Ford. Motor1 also got confirmation there would be a Raptor version of the 2021 Ford F-150. You had to think Ford wouldn’t give up its performance truck title so soon, especially after Ram unveiled a teaser of an upcoming TRX version of their 1500 truck yesterday.

As for what the new F-150 Raptor will offer, Ford hasn’t offered any information. We’re guessing it will still be powered by a 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 with perhaps a small power increase over the current 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The new 2021 Ford F-150 is packed with a ton of new features, however, and it is possible the next Raptor will benefit from one of them in particular.

As you may have guessed, we’re referring to the all-new 3.5-litre Powerboost hybrid V6 engine. The latter pairs a 3.5-litre EcoBoost with a 47-horsepower electric motor. Ford says it can tow at least 12,000 pounds. A hybrid Raptor? Why not? The Ram TRX is expected to use a Hellcat engine with over 700 horsepower, so Ford can go nuts with the next Raptor.

Because it’s a top trim, it should feature the new 12-inch centre touchscreen and some of the new F-150’s best new goodies like the Max Reclining Seat and the ProPower outlet in the back.

We’re sure we will get more info on the upcoming Ford F-150 Raptor soon enough. In the meantime, this rendering takes the updated F-150 look and applies traditional Raptor design touches like the larger grille with three LEDs, the current-generation wheels, and the beefier suspension.
