Acura has officially unveiled the Acura RSX Prototype, a dramatically styled, premium all-electric performance SUV that previews the brand’s next-generation EV arriving in the second half of 2026. Finished in a striking Propulsion Yellow Pearl, the RSX Prototype takes centre stage at Monterey Car Week – with appearances at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering on August 15 and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 17.

Drawing inspiration from the Acura Performance EV Concept shown at last year’s Monterey Car Week, the RSX Prototype embraces a coupe-like silhouette with powerful proportions, a fastback roofline, deeply sculpted sides, flush door handles, and an integrated ducktail spoiler.
The aggressive stance is accentuated by flared wheel arches, massive 21-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, and bright red Brembo brake calipers. A long wheelbase and short overhangs reinforce its performance-focused posture.
At the front, Acura evolves its Diamond Pentagon grille with a sharper, more futuristic lighting signature, featuring slim daytime running lights and low-mounted LED headlights. The full-width LED taillight at the rear pays homage to the second-generation NSX, with “ACURA” boldly spelled across the tailgate in a modern font.

When it launches in late 2026, the production Acura RSX will spearhead the brand’s move into the Software Defined Vehicle era with the debut of ASIMO OS – Honda’s advanced global operating system. Designed to learn owner preferences through AI and machine learning, ASIMO OS will deliver a highly personalized driving experience, integrating automated driving features, advanced driver assistance systems, and next-gen infotainment. Over-the-air updates will continuously add new features, enhancing the ownership experience.

With its dual-motor all-wheel drive, sport-tuned double wishbone front suspension, low centre of gravity, and Brembo brakes as standard, the RSX promises thrilling handling and top-tier driver engagement. Beyond performance, the RSX offers vehicle-to-load capabilities, functioning as mobile energy storage to power tools, appliances, or even provide home backup power.

Unveiled at CES 2025, ASIMO OS is engineered to integrate all vehicle control systems, from automated driving and safety features to entertainment and navigation. Much like a smartphone, the system will run various apps, adapting to driver preferences for music, routes, and climate settings.

This highly anticipated model marks a milestone in Acura’s electrification strategy. It will be the first Acura engineered entirely in-house on Honda’s global EV platform, and the first EV built at Honda’s new EV Hub in Ohio, sharing the Marysville Auto Plant line with the Acura Integra. This flexible production approach allows Honda to manufacture internal combustion, hybrid, and battery-electric vehicles on the same assembly line.
