Mercedes is in full-attack mode. They’ve got more new products in the pipeline than we can but there’s one we’re very excited about.
A while back, Charles reviewed the all-new A Class hatchback. I’ll be taking the sedan for a spin in just over a week. At this point in time, the car we’re driving are the “normies” but some time from now, Mercedes-AMG will launch an AMG version, or three, of their smallest car.
Set to tackle the BMW M240i (a fantastic automobile) and the Audi S3 (equally superb), the A35 will use a 300-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine hooked up to Mercedes’ 4MATIC AWD system. The A35 will slot below the hotter A45 variant which will eventually be topped by an A45 S car.
While the US will only get the sedan version of the A Class, Canada will be entitled to both body styles. We’re not certain if this will limit the availability of the hot-hatch version but we want to believe it will not.
The A35 is expected to make its debut at the Paris Auto Show.
