BMW Launches 601 hp i4 Among Other Brand Updates

  • BMW i4 M60 xDrive debuts with 601 hp and 3.7-second 0–100 km/h time.

  • Digital Key, Comfort Access, and Alexa integration expand across BMW models.

  • New colours, trim options, and more are coming from BMW.

BMW has introduced numerous updates to several models in its lineup starting July 2025, including new efficiency technology for the all-electric i4 and expanded digital features across the brand’s vehicles.

The BMW i4 eDrive35 and i4 eDrive40 will be equipped with new silicon carbide components in their power electronics, reducing energy consumption by approximately 4.5 %. Depending on configuration, this results in up to 22 additional kilometres of range. A new top-of-the-line variant, the i4 M60 xDrive, will debut at the same time, delivering 442 kW (601 hp) and reaching 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. The already potent M50 provides the driver with 536 hp.

A new Ultimate Package for the X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition adds features such as an M Carbon engine cover, panoramic glass roof, and the M Driver’s Package, which increases the top speed to 290 km/h. The X6 M Competition also receives an exclusive M Carbon rear spoiler.

Many models will now include Comfort Access and the BMW Digital Key as standard equipment. A simplified setup process will be available on vehicles such as the BMW X1, X2, 5 Series, M5, 7 Series, and others. Additional models, including the X3 in Canada, will follow shortly.

The iDrive infotainment system will feature further enhancements, including a second voice for the Intelligent Personal Assistant and integration with Amazon Alexa in select markets including Canada. Vehicles equipped with BMW Operating System 9 will also gain access to Zoom video conferencing, which deactivates automatically while driving.

Several BMW models will receive updated colour and trim packages. The X1 and X2 gain new exterior finishes, including Vegas Red metallic and Night Dusk Blue. New interior options include Veganza and Econeer upholstery and brushed aluminium trim. The iX will offer a Frozen Pure Grey metallic option.
