The all-new 2020 BMW M2 CS made its first public appearance today at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Unveiled earlier this month, the 2020 BMW M2 CS showed its face at the 2019 edition of the Los Angeles Auto Show for its world premiere. Not only the M2 embodies the entry door to the M world, but it also is somewhat exclusive thanks to its CS variant, designed for the new Clubsport segment.
This CS includes specific components designed for the track addict. Outside, a carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof reduces weight. A newly designed hood hides the twin-turbo six-cylinder engine that dishes our 450 horsepower, a 40 horsepower increase from the BMW M2 Competition.
With the standard six-speed manual gearbox, the M2 CS can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. Choosing the optional seven-speed M DCT gearbox will cut that time down to 4.0 seconds.
To make the BMW M2 CS a winning horse on the track, engineers gave it an Adaptative M suspension and a set of available M Carbon ceramic brakes. Finally, it is also outfitted with 19-inch forged light-alloy wheels wrapped with Cup tyres.
Inside, the centre console and door panel trim is made in carbon fibre reinforced plastic. Occupants sit in lightweight M Sport seats. There is plenty of Alcantara, red stitching and, of course, the red CS badging!
