The lineup will expand with single-motor and more affordable 2LT AWD models entering production in the fall.
Chevrolet is gearing up to launch its 2024 Blazer EV lineup, consisting of three versions. The midsize crossover models are expected to hit the market this year, with the first units already making their way from the Ramos Arizpe assembly plant in Mexico to customers this summer.
The automaker has provided updated pricing and timing details for the Canadian market, starting with the dual-motor Blazer EV RS AWD model. Priced at $73,298, including freight and PDI, this variant boasts a sportier appearance, 21-inch wheels with a unique finish, a flat-bottom steering wheel, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heads-up display, and animated exterior lighting.
As for the single-motor Blazer EV RS RWD, slated to enter production this fall, Chevrolet anticipates a driving range of up to 515 km. With the same base price as the AWD variant, it presents a competitive option in the electric vehicle market.
The 2LT AWD model, starting at $63,298, is expected to roll out in the fall as well. This version features a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, a heated steering wheel, Evotex seating, wireless phone charging, AutoSense power liftgate, and 360-degree surround cameras.
Chevrolet plans to announce pricing details for the remaining Blazer EV trims and drivetrains closer to their 2024 launch date. This includes the high-performance Blazer EV SS, projected to produce 557 horsepower and enter production in the following spring. With the activation of the WOW (Wide open Watts) function, the model can achieve 0-96 km/h in under four seconds.
For customers seeking a more budget-friendly option, the base 2LT FWD variant will follow in the next year, offering approximately 471 km of driving range. Chevrolet estimates that this model will cost less than $60,000, making it eligible for federal and provincial incentives.
Chevrolet dealers are ready to convert reservations into orders for the 2024 Blazer EV 2LT AWD, RS AWD, and RS RWD models starting in late summer. Orders for the remaining Blazer EV lineup will be accepted closer to their respective launch dates, giving customers more opportunities to experience the latest in electric vehicle technology. Chevrolet’s introduction of the Blazer EV lineup aims to expand its presence in the electric vehicle market and offer customers a range of options to suit their preferences and driving needs.
