Faster, Sharper New Porsche Taycan Drops Next Week

  • Ring-record Taycan teased ahead of reveal

  • Expected to be the sedan that humbled the Plaid

That electric Porsche that has been terrorizing Elon Musk in his Nurburgring Nightmares? We’re finally about to see it. Porsche is teasing the quickest Taycan yet, and it will be revealed on March 11th.

The headline for the fastest electric sedan around the legendary Nurburgring racetrack in Germany has been trading hands a lot over the last year or so. Porsche keeps going out there in the Taycan and snagging it, only for Tesla to come up with some sort of one-off it says takes the title back.

The problem for Porsche was that, at least in recent months, you couldn’t buy the fast one. It was identified as a pre-series car, so there was nothing by way of a spec sheet to look at.

That’s about to change.

Porsche has just officially teased the model that we expect to be called the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT. The Taycan the automaker is calling “the most dynamic Taycan of all time.”

The teaser shows a car with a big rear wing and a driver wearing a helmet. So it seems safe to assume this is the car that is only a few seconds away from the ‘Ring record for any EV, sedan or supercar. The reveal will come March 11th. Expect big numbers, and serious handling. We’ll bring you all of the updates.
