Mini is saying goodbye to the Clubman. The four-door Mini Clubman is about to be axed, but Mini wouldn’t let a car go without a special edition. So welcome the Mini Clubman Final Edition. The company will make 1969 of them, a nod to the year the original went on sale.
The modern Mini Clubman arrived in 2015 and was redesigned in 2015. The 2007 model was a two-door Mini Cooper with a sort of half door for passengers, like an early 2000s pickup, and side-hinged cargo doors instead of a hatch. In 2015 the car was normalised slightly, and the two rear-opening half doors became two normal rear doors. The cargo opening was still two side-hinged doors.
Mini will offer the Clubman final edition will be sold in white, black, or silver. It will also be offered in Cooper and Cooper S variants.
Mini’s changes to the model include shimmer copper detailing. The colour is applied to the grille surrounds and radiator crossbar. The same goes for the Mini Cooper S blade and the car’s side skirts. The 18-inch wheels are also Final Edition-specific, a two-tone black and copper design.
On the inside, Mini has gone all-in on badging. There are Final Edition badges on the door sills, floor mates, and on the passenger side dash. Plus the steering wheel and the standard sports seats.
Those seats are finished in dark maroon with light grey insert. A contrast light blue piping helps make the look quite cool. Combine that with the copper detailing and sage green finishing on the dash, and the Final Edition is a pretty cool place to be.
No word on pricing or availability for the Mini Clubman Final Edition, but expect it to carry a premium of a few thousand. And expect them to sell out fast when dealers start taking orders.
