Hotter 600+ hp RS Q6 E-Tron Coming Next Year

Expect more Audi electric performance

  • Audi looking at a real go-fast Q6 e-tron EV

  • Looking to separate RS from Porsche variants

Get ready for a new electric performance SUV from Audi. An RS Q6 e-tron is coming next year says a new report, and it will be a much more serious exercise than the SQ6.

Autocar says it heard news about the new model from a company insider. It said that the RS Q6 is expected to use the electric drive system from the Macan Turbo, which puts out 621 hp. Well above the 483 hp dual-motor system in the current SQ6 e-tron.

Audi will be aiming more toward comfort than Porsche does with the Macan, the report said. The two companies are trying to further separate models that use the same chassis and similar drive unit components. Both use the group’s PPE architecture and share many motor, battery, and electronic parts.

The RS Q6 is also expected to have bolder styling, much like the RS6 sedan and e-tron GT Rs. That means massive wheels, bulging fenders, and an RS-spec interior. In short, much more RS and less e-tron when it comes to design.

Audi has also recently teased a Q6 e-tron Sportback. That’s the coupe-crossover-style version, with a slightly more aerodynamic roofline than the regular Audi Q6 e-tron, which comes at the expense of rear cargo space.
