The highly-anticipated Hyundai Santa Cruz crossover pickup truck is now available to pre-order in Canada. The pre-order doesn’t come with pricing for the model, but it does give us a better look at the trim levels that Hyundai will offer in Canada.
The 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz can be ordered now in limited quantities with a $500 deposit to go toward your trucklet. Delivery dates aren’t guaranteed, but Hyundai does say “Estimated launch date: late summer 2021”. Production in the US starts in June.
Canadian buyers can start with the Preferred AWD model of the Santa Cruz, getting the 2.5L turbo-four, eight-speed dual-clutch, and all-wheel drive. It will also have a full complement of driver assistance aids including forward collision assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, though without active cruise. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are included as are heated front seats and steering wheel.
Preferred with Trend Package will add leather, sunroof, adaptive cruise, and Bose audio with eight speakers along with a 10.25-inch digital dash cluster display. Lastly, Ultimate will offer a 10.25-inch infotainment display with navigations, LED headlights, surround view and blind spot cameras, ventilated front seats, and more comfort and convenience options.
Hyundai is offering the Santa Cruz only in desert-inspired paint colours including Blue Stone, Sage Grey, and Sand Strom, with black cloth or leather and a dark green two-tone leather option on Ultimate trim models.
When will you get a price for your pre-ordered compact truck? Hyundai says closer to it going on sale, meaning sometime this summer.
