Kia’s plans for the EV9 3-row SUV will undoubtedly have a massive impact in North America. Will Kia does have an electric pickup in the works, the EV9 will strike a chord with families looking for space, efficiency, and, most importantly, affordability.

The EV9 will be assembled on the advanced E-GMP platform already used for the very impressive EV6. The 800-volt architecture will ensure that the platform remains relevant for a while as it enables fast-charging and bi-directional charging capabilities.
Interestingly, according to Motor Authority, the production version of the EV9 will heavily resemble the concept revealed at the 2021 LA auto show. Kia America Chief Designer Tom Kearns adds that 80% to 90% of the concept’s exterior styling will make the final cut. The main difference will be the addition of a “B” pillar.
Finally, the EV9 will go on sale in North America in the second half of 2023. Based on the report, the EV9 will be priced around $50,000, or about $15,000 more than the Telluride. Assumingly, this price point will be for the base single-motor version with upper trims quickly shooting past $60,000.
