Lamborghini Celebrates 20 Years of its Centro Stile with the Manifesto Concept

  • The brand’s design department turns 20 this year.

  • One of the ways the company is commemorating this event is by unveiling the Manifesto concept.

  • This futuristic supercar shows the “potential future” of Lamborghini’s design language.

As part of celebrations commemorating its design department’s twentieth anniversary, Lamborghini has unveiled a new concept car called Manifesto.

Pictures of the highlighter-yellow supercar were posted on Instagram by Mitja Borkert, the brand’s design director, who said this concept previews the company’s “potential future” in terms of styling.

From the front, the Manifesto shows clear similarities with many current Lamborghini models, especially due to its Y-shaped headlamps and shark nose. The brand’s hexagonal design theme is also apparent in the shape of the A-pillars and the creases on the front hood.

The tops of the A-Pillars form a peak on each side of the roof, which sits lower in the middle, giving a double-bubble look. The entire roof structure appears to be made of glass, something that is unlikely to ever reach production.

In profile, the Manifesto is much more futuristic, with a wedge shape that begins in a low pointed nose and ends in a high ducktail.

The upper edge of the car starts at the front beak and gently curves back to form the roofline and the mid-engine cover in a flowing, un-broken line.

Wheel arches adopt a stretched hexagonal shape and include diagonal lines that further link the front to the rear.

A prominent splitter is also present at the front, paired with matching black side skirts. No apparent doors can be seen.

At the rear, Lamborghini’s latest creation clearly shows its concept status, as no road-legal production cars feature such a thin mid-section.

The rear diffuser is another distinctive trait of the Manifesto, as its large vertical elements almost resembling a ship’s rudders.

Here again, Y-Shaped rear lights recall current Lamborghini models, especially the Fenomeno.

While a number of elements shown on the Manifesto are obviously impossible to manufacture in a production car, even one as unique as Lamborghini’s limited series models, there is a high probability that this concept’s influence will be recognisable on some of the brand’s future products.
