The Mercedes-AMG A 45 will be either fast or very fast.
Basic A 45 will provide 387 horsepower. The “S” will be blessed with no less than 421 horsepower. Both outputs will come from a new 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
We’ve decided not to renew our driver’s licence here at MI – we’re going to lose it driving the A 45 S anyhow so what’s the point?
Apparently, a German auto insurance company mistakenly listed both the AMG A 45 and a range-topping A 45 S and the attached numbers are nothing short of what dreams are made of. Over the Holidays, Mercedes-AMG released a video depicting an A 45 S “doing what it does best” which is drive fast on a track, and drift.
The starter-pack AMG A 45 will be more or less neglected because of its shy 387-horsepower from the turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine. The AMG A 45 S will rock the hot hatch world with not only 421-horsepower but an expected upgraded version of Mercedes’ 4MATIC AWD system with a “drift mode,” much like the E 63.
We know the Mercedes-AMG A 35 hatchback will come to Canada but no word on the 45. Likely, a “45” will be reserved for the next generation CLA.
