Mercedes-Benz EQB Unveiled In Munich Is A Compact, Three-Row EV

New Mercedes-Benz EQB is the electric equivalent of the current GLB

It’s a fully-electric, three-row compact SUV

It will arrive in Canada next year

After a rocky start, Mercedes-Benz is ready to go all-in with its Mercedes-Benz EQ lineup of fully electric vehicles and the new Mercedes-Benz EQB should be one of its most popular offerings.

Set to launch next year, the Mercedes-Benz EQB is a compact electric sport utility vehicle with three rows of seats, essentially the current GLB without the combustion engine.

It will launch as the EQB 350 4Matic with 288 horsepower and a range of 419 kilometres on the WLTP circuit. That means actual range in North America will likely be closer to 375 kilometres.

The EQB can charge at maximum power of 100 kW and needs about 30 minutes to go from 10% to 80%. It can also charge at up to 11 kW at home thanks to alternating current and its onboard charger.

The base configuration will have five seats while two extra seats in the back can be added. Mercedes-Benz says they can accommodate anyone measuring less than 1.65 metres. Cargo capacity behind the second row ranges from 465 litres to 495 litres for the 5-seat and 7-seat configurations, while a forward trunk adds 190 litres.
