One-Off Ferrari P80/C Is A Modern Sport Prototype Race Car

A One-Off Ferrari project takes more than money. To be considered for such an endeavour, the client must embody Ferrari. In this case, the Ferrari P80/C embodies the brand’s Sport Prototype cars, and it’s glorious.

We strongly recommend you take 12 minutes of your time to watch the accompanying video. It’s one thing to imagine that it takes millions of dollars to get a Ferrari One-Off car to leave Maranello but it’s another to understand where this specific project comes from.

Based on a Ferrari 488 GT3 race car, the P80/C is a modern homage to past racing legends such as the 330 P3 and P4, the 350 Can-Am and the Dino 206 SP. The idea behind the P80/C was to recreate the power and spirit of these cars in a very modern light.

What is unique about this Ferrari P80/C is that it’s a track-only car, the first of its kind in Ferrari’s One-Off program. This allowed Ferrari designers to take this car’s styling to another level. Part and parcel to the final result is the GT3’s longer wheelbase that accentuates the P80/C’s sculpted haunches.

Further to this, the tinted wrap-around windshield flows into the massive side vents that feed the twin-turbocharged V8’s intercoolers. All of the aerodynamic bits are functional – so much so that the rear spoiler can be removed for car shows to clean up the car’s lines…

There’s no word yet on who purchased the bespoke Ferrari race car nor how much it cost but suffice it to say it won’t end up in your neighbour’s garage who also rust-proofs cars on evenings and weekends as a hobby.
