The Ram division of Stellantis has announced two new special editions of its popular Ram 1500 pickup.
The most exclusive version is the Ram 1500 TRX Ignition Edition, which comes equipped with many features that are optional on the already very exclusive TRX performance truck. To Distinguish itself, the Ignition edition is painted in Ignition Orange, a colour not used on any other Stellantis vehicle, and its interior is accented by orange logos and stitching throughout.
The TRX Ignition edition keeps the same powertrain as the “regular” TRX, which means it is also the fastest and most powerful Pickup truck ever made, with 702 horsepower and a 4.5 second 0-60 mph (96 km/h) acceleration time.
Limited to only 100 units for Canada, the TRX Ignition Edition is the most expensive Ram vehicle ever made. Its Canadian base price will be $125,075 when it goes on sale towards the end of the year.
The (RAM)RED trim will be available on the Limited Crew Cab 1500 model, with a choice of the 5.7L Hemi V8 or the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engines.
These models will feature red-coloured badging, as well as specific (RAM)RED logos inside and outside.
This special edition is the first to come from Stellantis’ pledge to raise $4 million (USD) for the Global Fund, an organisation that finances research for the fight against many diseases and pandemics, including HIV and COVID 19.
The (RAM)RED 1500 should become available to Canadian buyers by the end of the year.
It will be followed by similar (RED) editions of the Jeep Compass and Renegade, as well as the Fiat 500e, for Europe only. Profits made by the sale of these vehicles will all go to the Global Fund.
