Rolls-Royce has revealed the Cullinan Cosmos, a one-off commission that elevates bespoke craftsmanship to celestial heights. Commissioned by a family through Private Office Dubai, this unique SUV was designed to capture the wonder of outer space and translate it into a rolling piece of art.
Rolls-Royce introduces the Cullinan Cosmos: a singular commission inspired by the cosmos
First Rolls-Royce to debut a fully hand-painted Starlight Headliner in the marque’s history
Headliner crafted over 160 hours by a dedicated in-house Rolls-Royce artist
At the heart of this commission is a true first for the marque: a fully hand-painted Starlight Headliner. Developed entirely freehand by one of Rolls-Royce’s in-house artists, the work took more than 160 painstaking hours to complete, representing a landmark in the company’s long tradition of artistic innovation.

“We wanted to create something our family would remember forever: a Rolls-Royce that captures the essence of the cosmos and shows that no dream is out of reach.”
— Commissioning Client, Cullinan Cosmos
Phil Fabre de la Grange, Head of Bespoke at Rolls-Royce, underscored the significance of the project:
“Space travel is an enduring fascination for the commissioning clients of this extraordinary one-of-one motor car. For the Bespoke Collective, this project also explored new frontiers, with our first-ever hand-painted Starlight Headliner. Bold in its conception and spectacular in its realisation, this commission demonstrates how Rolls-Royce brings clients’ otherworldly visions to life with drama, depth, and absolute precision.”
Exterior: A Moonlit Presence
Finished in Arabescato Pearl, the Cullinan Cosmos gleams with the soft lustre of moonlight. A hand-painted twin coachline in Charles Blue and the Illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy complete the impression of a star shimmering against the night sky.

Interior: Meditative Luxury
Inside, the Cosmos offers a serene, almost spiritual environment. The reclining seats are upholstered in Charles Blue and Grace White leather, accentuated by Grace White piping and stitching. Piano White veneers add a technical, high-gloss finish reminiscent of satellite casings.

The bespoke Star Cluster motif, created with the commissioning family, appears as intricate embroidery on the doors and headrests, and as a hand-painted artwork across the front passenger fascia, a detail that quietly echoes the cosmos at every glance.
Craftsmanship Beyond Earthly Standards
The centrepiece of this creation is the hand-painted Starlight Headliner, an ethereal vision of the Milky Way. To achieve its celestial effect, the artist applied more than 20 layers of acrylic paint, experimenting with brushes of varying sizes, even a makeup brush, to produce delicate cosmic mists.
Once the starry composition was sealed, each fibre-optic perforation was individually punched by hand, carefully aligned with the painted constellations to achieve a seamless union between art and light. The result is a headliner that doesn’t just imitate the night sky, it seems to breathe with it. The car was delivered in time for a family celebration.
