The Honda e is one of the more intriguing small electric vehicles that likely not be sold in North America, ever. This is unfortunate as the retro compact electric car is loaded with personality and a fair amount of power and range. Rumour has it that Honda will use the experience gained from the e and create a coupe version.
The only details that seem more or less certain about this new EV, as Honda heads towards converting its entire product portfolio to EVs by 2030, is that the car will have only two doors and fit between the S2000 and NSX. As well, Best Car Web expects that it will be available in 2024.
The Honda e has a rear-mounted 148-horsepower electric motor and a 35.5kWh battery which is good for over 200km of range. Interestingly, the e also features a 50/50 weight distribution and a fully independent suspension – high-desirable specifications for a sporty car.
Back in 2017, at the Tokyo Motor Show, Honda revealed the Honda Sports EV Concept, a sporty coupe with a distinctly retro-inspired design. It may yet see production as we do love the concept’s styling. According to the source, the EV Pure Sport was to see the light of day at the 2021 Tokyo Motor Show.
