The 2023 Kia Niro Hybrid will Start at $26,490 in the US

  • Three trim levels will be available

  • Sales will begin this month in the United States

  • The plug-in hybrid and the electric versions will arrive later

Kia announced the prices for the 2023 Niro Hybrid in the United States just in time for the first sales, which will take place later this month.

The Niro compact crossover was entirely renewed for the 2023 model year and like its predecessor, it will be offered in a choice of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and entirely electric versions.

Since the regular hybrid model will be the first to be delivered, the pricing announcement only applies to this model.

The Niro Hybrid will be available in three trim levels: LX, EX, and SX. The latter two will also offer a Touring Package.

The entry-level LX will be priced at $26,490 and it will come standard with features such as forward collision alert, blind spot monitoring with safe exit function, and rear cross-traffic alert with autonomous braking.

For $29,090, the Niro EX will add more comfort and convenience features while the top-of-the-line Niro SX will be available with items such as the digital key, and the dual panoramic displays for a price of $32,490.

Every 2023 Kia Niro Hybrid will be powered by a 1.6L four-cylinder engine and a 32-kW electric motor paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.

This is the same powertrain that was found in the previous generation of the Niro and it will continue to deliver 139 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels, with an EPA fuel economy of 53 MPG (4.4L/100 km).

The upcoming plug-in hybrid version will benefit from a second electric motor that will bring its power output to 180 horsepower in addition to providing an all-electric range of about 33 miles (53 kilometres).

Kia has yet to announce the prices for the Niro Hybrid in Canada, as well as the prices for the PHEV and fully electric versions in the United States.
