The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder will be Priced from $35,000 in the US

Nissan announced a slight price increase for the 2023 Pathfinder in the US, along with a new off-road-oriented version.

  • The Pathfinder was extensively reworked for the 2022 model year

  • A new Rock Creek trim level is added to the lineup

  • This is a $360 increase for the base model

Nissan announced that the 2023 Pathfinder will start at $35,000 in the United States, a $360 increase over last year.

Since the Pathfinder entered a new generation in 2022, changes are minimal for the new model year, with the exception of a new trim level.

In reaction to the recent trend that consists in offering more rugged, off-road inspired versions of SUVs, Nissan adds the Rock Creek model to the Pathfinder.

This trim level features a more aggressive look due to its specific bumpers and black grille, as well as its exclusive Beadlock-style 18-inch wheels and off-road tires.

In order to improve its off-roading capabilities even further, the Pathfinder Rock Creek benefits from a 5/8-inch (about 16 millimetres) lift achieved via a special suspension system.

In addition, this model adds a standard tubular roof rack that allows up to 220 pounds to be transported on top of the vehicle, and its interior is livened up by orange stitching.

The Rock Creek is not only an appearance package, however, since it receives a more powerful version of the Pathfinder’s standard engine, with 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque.

Otherwise, the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder continues with the same powertrain as the 2022 model, which means it is powered by a 284-horsepower 3.5L V6 engine mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel-drive system is a $1,900 option on any trim level except the Rock Creek, where it is standard.

For 2023, the Pathfinder is offered in five trim levels that range from the entry-level S all the way up to the top-of-the-line Platinum, offered at $47,970 without AWD.

The new Rock Creek is positioned in the middle of the lineup in terms of pricing since it carries an asking price of $42,820, which is more affordable than the SL with AWD and the Platinum with either drivetrain.

Canadian pricing information hasn’t been released yet, but Nissan should make this information public soon since the first units of the 2023 Pathfinder are not far from reaching dealers.
