The Fisker Ocean Force E will be an Off-road Focussed Electric SUV

Fisker is already working on a new version of the Ocean which will arrive later this year.

  • This announcement comes less than a week after the first deliveries of the regular Ocean.

  • The Force E model will feature around 550 horsepower, special dampers, and higher ground clearance.

  • This model will be built in England while the regular Ocean will come from Austria.

Less than a week after having delivered the first unit of the Ocean electric SUV, Fisker announced a more rugged version that will join the lineup toward the end of the year.

Called the Ocean Force E, this model will benefit from upgrades that will allow it to face inhospitable terrains and harsh conditions.

For example, every Ocean Force E will come standard with a dual-motor powertrain that should deliver around 550 horsepower to all four wheels.

In addition, this model will feature increased ground clearance, special off-road dampers, front and rear skid plates to protect the suspension components, a full-length titanium underbody protection plate, and exclusive 20-inch wheels wearing all-terrain 33-inch tires.

Buyers who really intend to take their Ocean Force E off-road will be able to order additional features such as rubber floor coverings, grab handles, cargo tie-downs, and a roof-mounted basket.

Fisker hasn’t revealed the expected range for this model, but the off-road focussed elements, particularly the tires, are likely to have a significant impact on the SUV’s efficiency, meaning it should have less range than the 563-kilometre estimate for the regular dual-motor Ocean.

Interestingly, Ocean Force E will not be built alongside the regular version of the electric SUV. Indeed, this new version will come out of the company’s “Magic Works” division in England, a unit which is run by David King, a former Rally driver.

This could be because apart from this specialty facility, Fisker doesn’t have a plant that can manufacture entire vehicles, which is why the regular Ocean is being produced by Magna in Austria and the upcoming PEAR compact model will be built by Foxconn in Ohio.

According to Henrik Fisker, CEO of the company that wears his name, this new version of the Ocean will be ideal for drivers who enjoy nature since it will allow them to adventure away from civilization while keeping their impact on the environment at a minimum.

More information should be available in the coming months since deliveries are expected during the last quarter of 2023.
