The Ford Mustang Mach-E will receive some small changes for the 2022 model year, most notably a small bump in range
The order guide for the 2022 Mach-E was leaked on the internet by a member of the Mach-E forum and it shows all of the changes to expect for the new model year.
The most important change is an increase in the useable battery capacity, which will now be 70 kWh for the Short-Range battery pack and 91 kWh for the Long-Range unit. These numbers represent a very slight increase of 2 kWh and 3 kWh respectively.
Since the increase is so low, the total capacity of the batteries likely hasn’t changed and will remain at 75,7 kWh and 98.8 kWh. A better management of the electrical power could be to thank for the difference.
This increase in capacity will likely result in better range, although the difference is expected to be relatively minimal.
A member of the Mach-E forum has estimated that the range of the 2022 Mustang Mach-E will sit at 217 miles (349 kilometers) for the AWD Short-Range model and 315 miles (506 kilometers) for the California Route 1 edition. The increase would thus be of 6 miles (10 kilometers) at the least and 10 miles (16 kilometers) at the most.
These figures have not been tested and the real-world range could show a bigger increase, or no change at all.
Another change for the new model year is the addition of the Ice White appearance package that will include white paint, white accented wheels, white mirror caps and white badges on the exterior, paired with a white dashboard insert and badges complementing a white leather interior.
Production of the 2022 model year for the Ford Mustang Mach-E is due to begin in November of 2021.
