With the A-Class Hatchback already on the market, Mercedes-Benz is turning its attention to the A-Class sedan and released today its Canadian starting price.
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan, or A 220, will start at $34,990 with the A 220 4Matic Sedan starting at $36,990.
That’s $1,000 less than the 2019 Mercedes-Benz A 250 Hatch and makes the 2019 A-Class sedan the most affordable Mercedes-Benz vehicle you can buy in Canada.
The A 220 sedan gets a less powerful version of the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine than in the A 250 with 188 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque on tap. The A-Class Hatchback makes 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
As a result, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan reaches 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds while the hatchback realizes the sprint in 6.2 seconds.
Standard features on the A-Class sedan include panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes, keyless start, heated windshield washer system, leather steering wheel, 17-inch wheels, Attention assist, adaptive braking with hold function and a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

What About MBUX?

Using the voice command “Hey, Mercedes”, you can ask MBUX to perform a variety of tasks using normal language, from adjusting the climate controls to telling you who won the Stanley Cup in 2004. The system also adjusts its parameters to your preferences over time.
MBUX is offered in both the A-Class hatchback and sedan as well as the new 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE.
