- All electric version of the Mercedes-Benz GLB will be offered
- It will arrive in calendar year 2021
- Specific name or specs unknown at this time
I’m currently completing my review on the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 and thought that I’d share that the coming of a 100% electric version of the new compact GLB SUV is confirmed and will happen in 2021.
To put it all in perspective, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 will arrive in early Q1 in Canada. In other words, expect to see them in showrooms as early as January, along with long lineups at your local Benz dealers.
The red-hot 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 will show up in late Q3, or sometime in September of 2020. Usually, there’s a larger gap between these market launches but we’re guessing Mercedes is banking on some serious demand so might as well strike the iron while it’s hot.
As for the electric version of the GLB, the EQB perhaps, all we know is that calendar 2021 will mark its arrival. We don’t know anything about battery size, range, or any of these details but we suspect that, once more, Mercedes will hit the competition hard, and swiftly. Odds are we’ll see a concept in Geneva next March, a production version in Paris in the fall of 2020 and market introductions the following spring.
As for the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 and AMG 35 review, the embargo lifts next Wednesday.
