It will slot between the CLA and CLS.
Size-wise, it will find itself below the E-Class, above the C-Class.
The CLE will be the fourth 4-door coupé in Mercedes-Benz’s lineup.
This piece of news goes against what was reported back in March. At the time, Mercedes-Benz had indicated that they were cutting back on the number of models. The new Mercedes-Benz CLE leaves us somewhat perplex.
Even so, according to autoblog.it, the new for 2023 Mercedes-Benz CLE will arrive and position itself in the heart of the CL 4-door coupé family of Benzes, and slide in above the C-Class and beneath the E-Class. The source story says that the CLE will measure 485 cm in length, which puts it about 7 cm (2.8 inches) shorter than the current E-Class sedan, 12 cm (4.7 inches) shorter than the CLS. It will be 16 cm (6.3 inches) longer than the CLA.
The new CLE will replace a number of current cars. The C-Class Coupe and Cabrio as well as the E-Class Coupe and Cabrio will “become the CLE Coupé and CLE Cabrio. This might be what Mercedes meant when they hinted that some models might be dropped.
Looking ahead, we can assume a few things. The CLE will be powered by the same powertrain that will be offered with the E-Class and that the CLE Shooting Brake, also expected as part of the CLE lineup, will not be offered in North America.
