The electric sedan drove on a journey of 1,044 km on a single charge.
The 150 kWh battery is behind this new record.
The race for the most impressive range in the EV segment is in full swing. Every week, a new distance is broken, a trend unlikely to fade any time soon. This time, the release comes from Chinese manufacturer Nio.
Founder, Chairman and CEO William Li was able to drive his own ET7 sedan over 1,000 km on a single charge. The car in question was equipped with the new Ultra Long Range battery with a capacity of 150 kWh. This technology is available on all the brand’s models. So, it’s not just a limited edition that can achieve this distance on a single charge.
Mr. Li’s journey, joined by Dr. Fei Shen, himself Vice President of Nio Power, and Mr. Chenxia Huang, Managing Director of Tencent News, covered 1,044 km, the car having used 97% of its charge by the time the trip ended. The new single-charge distance record began in Shanghai, China, and ended in the city of Xiamen, on the country’s southeast coast.
Of course, this was only a trip made by electric technology enthusiasts, who probably drove the car to stretch its journey from Shanghai as far as possible, but even so, managing to cover more than 1,000 km on a single charge is enough to reassure even the most skeptical of range anxiety.
