Sneak Peek: Bentley’s Hybrid Continental GT Arrives June 2024

Bentley introduces the fourth-generation Continental GT with an Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain, setting new standards in power, luxury, and sustainability.

  • Fourth-gen Bentley Continental GT features the Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain, offering 771 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque.

  • New Continental GT achieves an 80-km electric-only range and under 50 g/km CO2 emissions.

  • Latest chassis technology ensures exceptional dynamics and sustainability without compromising luxury.

Today, Bentley announced details of the highly anticipated fourth-generation Continental GT, which is set for a full unveiling in June. The new Grand Tourer will be the first Bentley to feature the brand’s Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain.

The new powertrain combines a V8 engine with an electric motor to produce 782 PS (771 hp) and a massive 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. It will deliver a zero-emission electric-only range of 80 km (50 miles) while achieving remarkably low CO2 emissions under 50 g/km on the WLTP cycle.

This marks a significant leap in performance and sustainability for Bentley’s iconic luxury coupe, which traces its roots back to the record-setting 1952 R Type Continental. The original Continental GT debuted in 2002, sparking a renaissance that saw Bentley’s sales grow tenfold on the back of its powerful yet refined grand touring capabilities.

Over three generations, the Continental GT has captured numerous speed records, motorsports championships, and endurance race victories. Nearly 100,000 examples have been handcrafted in Crewe since its launch, with one in three Bentleys sold being a Continental GT variant.

For its fourth iteration, the Continental GT evolves the classic silhouette defined by the distinctive power line, haunch, and sloping roofline – signatures inspired by the R Type Continental. New exterior design elements will be revealed next month.

Beyond the new hybrid powertrain, the 2024 Continental GT receives the latest chassis technology for exceptional dynamics. This includes active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring, four-wheel steering, an electronic limited-slip differential, 48V electric active anti-roll control, and advanced dual-valve dampers.

According to Bentley, the new Continental GT’s blend of electrified power, dynamic capability, and ultra-low emissions sets a new benchmark. At the same time, it retains the handcrafted luxury and fine material appointments associated with the British marque.

Inside, the latest generation introduces a new suite of technologies and an evolution of Bentley’s hand-crafted interior design aesthetic.

With the fourth-generation Continental GT, Bentley celebrates over 20 years of success for the Grand Touring Coupe credited with redefining the brand for the modern era. Full details will be announced when the new model makes its global debut in June.
