Only 40 build slots remain.
The Chiron debuted in 2016.
In total, only 500 will be built.
The Bugatti Chiron is and was a fitting replacement to the insane Veyron. With nearly 1,500 horsepower from its quad-turbo 8.0-litre W16 engine, it set numerous hearts afire with its stunning looks and impossible performance. As of now, there are only 40 left to be built.
Volkswagen and Bugatti’s initial plan was to build 500 examples of the ultra-exclusive hypercar. Since its introduction at the 2016 Geneva, many special one-off editions were assembled such as La Voiture Noire and a number of variants namely the Sport, Pur Sport, and the Super Sport.
Back in February of 2020, the 250th Chiron was assembled and sold. By March of 2021, the 300th was built, and now, barely seven months later, there are only 40 left as reported by Robb Report. The elapsed time between builds 250 and 300 is surely related to the global pandemic. However, the fact that 160 were spoken for since last March shows that interest in the car remains very strong.
Here’s What Maintaining a Bugatti Chiron Will Cost Over 4 Years
While the Bugatti Chiron had a starting price of $3 million for the base model, the final 40 units to be built will be either Pur Sport or Super Sport versions, priced at $3.6 million and $3.9 million respectively.
