48 vehicles from 15 different brands are going to be made available to the 2020 Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) visitors. Indeed, thanks to the GIMS Discovery track, showgoers will be able to test drives those alternative-powered vehicles on a 456-metre indoor circuit.
The 15 brands participating in the event are Aiways, Audi, BMW, DS Automobiles, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Renault, SEAT, Skoda, Smart, Toyota, Volkswagen.
“Although they are rapidly gaining in popularity, the majority of consumers indicate that they have never driven an electric or hybrid vehicle. As an industry, we must take a leadership role in advancing the adoption of alternative-powered mobility, helping consumers to better understand the benefits of these vehicles in their everyday lives and, perhaps more importantly, the impact on our environment,” says Maurice Turrettini, President of the GIMS Foundation Board. “With more than half a million visitors, GIMS offers an ideal platform to explore the exciting future of mobility and the opportunities and challenges we see in this new world.”
Even though GIMS Discovery is open to all the Geneva Motor Show attendees, the drives will be raffled exclusively through the GIMS official mobile app.
The winners of the drives will do a three-lap, 10-minute test drive that replicates a real-world drive thanks to a combination of tight and wide bends and long straights. During them, each raffle winner will be accompanied by a car explainer and will be able to get a first-hand experience on alternative-powered vehicles.
Taking place from 5 to 15 March 2020, the 90th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show will run approximately 11,000 Discovery Drives.
To get a chance to win one of these test drives, be sure to download GIMS mobile app either on iOS or Android.
In order to win the raffle, the Geneva Motor Show adds: “Discovery Drives are open to all GIMS visitors and attendees must possess a valid GIMS ticket for the requested day.”
