This small EV will serve as the new Safety Car in Formula E.
The car is inspired by Joh Cooper Works.
Among the concerns that still surround EVs, driving enjoyment and personality are still prevalent with driving enthusiasts. Everyone knows that EVs can be right quick but can they actually be fun to drive? Leave it to Mini to demonstrate that it’s very possible with the Cooper SE. A JCW version inspired by the Electric Pacesetter would be nothing short of a blast.
The Mini Electric Pacesetter will its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2021 which will be held between July 8th and 11th. The electric Pacesetter will tackle the famous hill climb with none other than Mini ambassador Charlie Cooper, grandson of John Cooper, at the wheel.
Based on the electric Mini Cooper SE, the Electric Pacesetter may be powered by the same 135 kW and 280 Nm (184 horsepower and 206 lb-ft) front-mounted electric motor but it tips the scale at 1,230 kg, or about 130 kg (286 lbs) lighter than the donor car.
Here’s hoping everyone shows it plenty of love so that Mini decides to mass-produce it.
