The Polestar 5 is the production version of the Precept concept.
The 5 is an electric performance 4-door GT.
Its launch is planned for 2024.
Nearly two years ago, Polestar revealed the Precept concept at the Geneva auto show. This new flagship electric performance 4-door GT concept showed the world how Polestar’s design was to evolve in the near future. Now, in a brief video as part of a series, we get a good glimpse of what the Polestar 5 will look like.
Polestar’s YouTube channel has hosted the “Polestar Precept: From Concept to Car” video series and in the latest installment, Nahum Escobedo, Polestar Exterior Design Manager, explains the many processes involved in coming up with the Polestar 5’s unique styling.
Escobedo’s insights are thought-provoking. His inspiration is not car-based but rooted in products. If anything, many of the ideas shared demonstrate Polestar’s future design direction as they move further away from Volvo.
Future Polestar Vehicles Will be More Polestar and Less Volvo
“With the Precept documentary series we are intentionally doing something car companies usually don’t – going behind the scenes with transparency as we turn this stunning concept car into production reality. It makes me very proud to see how much of the concept car’s design is making it into the Polestar 5 – a great achievement by our designers and engineers alike,” comments Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO.
The all-new Polestar 5 is expected in 2024.
